Student Pass is issued to foreign nationals who want to pursue education at any level in Malaysia.

 

CATEGORIES AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE;

  1. STUDENT PASS FOR FOREIGN NATIONAL IN GOVERNMENT OR PRIVATE SCHOOL
    1. Application must be made through the language centre at the Immigration Department Headquarters in Putrajaya. The application and extension of the Pass must be made through the school at State the Immigration Office
    2. But extension can be made at the State Immigration Office. But for students from the People’s Republic of China, the application must be submitted by the institution directly to the Student Pass Unit of the Immigration Department Headquarters in Putrajaya

     

  2. STUDENT PASS FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS IN PRIVATE SCHOOL
    1. Application and extension of the Pass must be made through the school at the State Immigration Office
    2. But for students from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan the application must be submitted directly to the Student Pass Unit of the Immigration Department Headquarters in Putrajaya.
    3. However extension can be applied at the State Immigration Office.

     

  3. STUDENT PASS FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS IN PUBLIC HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION
    1. Application must be made at the State Immigration Office through the university
    2. But for students from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan the application must be submitted directly to the Student Pass Unit of the Immigration Department Headquarters in Putrajaya.
    3. However extension can be made at the State Immigration Office.

     

  4. STUDENT PASS FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS IN PRIVATE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION
    1. Application must be made with the Education Malaysia Global Service (EMGS) system via the institution
    2. But extension can be made at the State Immigration Office.

     

  5. STUDENT PASS FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS IN LANGUAGE CENTRE
    1. Application must be made through the language centre at the Immigration Department Headquarters in Putrajaya
    2. But extension can be made at the State Immigration Office.

     

  6. STUDENT PASS FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS AT TRAINING CENTRE UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT
    1. Application must be made with the Education Malaysia Global Service (EMGS) system via the institution
    2. But extension can be made at the State Immigration Office.

     

  7. STUDENT PASS FOR DEPENDENT PASS HOLDER
    1. Application must be submitted to the Expatriate Service Division at any Immigration office where the endorsement to study will be stamped on the Passport
    2. Dependent Pass holder below 18 years is not required to have one to study in Malaysia.
    3. But for holders above 18, the Dependent Pass must be converted to Student Pass
    4. Expatriate Pass holders are also allowed to further study without having to apply Student Pass, provided there is offer from institution of higher learning.
    5. Spouses of Dependent Pass holder are allowed to study but must first convert it to Student Pass.
